Jackie Pullinger:
Jackie Pullinger is visiting Halifax on Monday 13th June - 10am - 4.30pm and 7.30pm - 9.30pm at The King's Centre. Jackie Pullinger MBE is a Christian who at 22 wanted to become a missionary. No missionary society would take her on so she went on her own to Hong Kong and started to work with drug addicts and Triad Gang Members, a work that still continues today.
The early part of her story is told in the bestselling book "Chasing the Dragon" and brief sections of her story are included on the re:jesus web site.
Jackie is an inspiring and challenging speaker - one who has put her faith into action time and time again in some of the world's toughest situations. This will be a day to inspire you, equip you, challenge you and change you... Book in today!

Yorkshire Duck Race:

Yorkshire Duck Race on Saturday 9th July at Bolton Abbey. The ducks are launched by the Abbey at 2pm and there will be music and entertainment throughout the afternoon. Ducks will be sold in aid of The Leprosy Mission, Street Angels, St Augustine's Centre and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. See www.yorkshireduckrace.org.uk
Community Buildings:
Celebrating your Community Building on Thursday 16th June at the newly built Baliffe Bridge Community Centre.

Then this event is for you. Come along and celebrate community/faith based buildings in Calderdale and hear some amazing success stories.
How can you make the most of your building, saving on energy bills, attracting new members to your building, expanding its use and making it sustainable?
Three centres will be talking about their success in completing a new build, extension to an existing building and the process of asset transfer.
Workshops will provide you the opportunity to learn about marketing your centre, saving on energy bills, raising additional funds and widening user participation.
