Following the retirement of the current director the Trustees are seeking a Voluntary Director of Councelling

A well-established provider of counselling services with a strong vision, The Turning Point exists to offer help to those who need someone to talk to - someone specially trained who will listen and understand. With registered charity status and institutional membership of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), we are a Christian foundation and delivered 560 counselling sessions last year through our team of seven counsellors.

THE ROLE
The Director of Counselling leads the service in its overall purpose of offering quality client care in line with best practice. The overall aim is to develop the organisational vision, values and strategy, whilst upholding our Christian culture and fulfilling our charitable aims. Working closely with the Trustees, main responsibilities of the role include leading and supporting our counsellors, overseeing client services ensuring their needs are met and liaising with external bodies.

THE PERSON
This role offers a developmental opportunity for a counsellor with at least 3 years' counselling practice and a degree or diploma validated by a BACP recognised educational body. Prepared to work flexibly and with the ability to prioritise your own workload, you will be an effective communicator and decision maker with an understanding of national policy. Your commitment would involve up to 6 hours per week, including attendance at monthly meetings.
