Services provided for young people by the church and Christian groups in Calderdale:
Boys Brigade - twelve companies throughout Calderdale offer activties for boys aged between 5 and 18 - www.halifaxbb.co.uk
Calderdale Street Angels - offers support to young people who are part of the night-time culture within Halifax town centre - www.streetangels.org.uk
Christian Initiative in Calderdale's Schools - works in association with Scripture Union within High Schools in Calderdale: running Rock Solid groups, leading Assemblies, lessons and faith days; providing a means for young people from different schools to meet together; and encouraging prayer for and involvement with schools - www.cicscalderdale.org.uk
Edge - a new youth mission in Todmorden hosting club nights, café, church services and more - www.edgeonline.org - meet Thursday 7.30 - 10pm and every 3rd Sunday 6-8pm.
Girls Brigade - offering activities for girls and young women aged 4+ - www.girlsb.org.uk
Halifax Central Church - run a youth group on Friday nights and hold youth based services each Sunday with food and games before, 6pm at Ebenezer Methodist Church, bottom of Pellon Lane
Holy Nativity Mixenden - run a Youth Group alternate Friday's
The King's Church hold a young people's group (ages 11 - 18) every Friday 7pm onwards
Youth Alpha - Todmorden based Vicky Ledwidge is the Northern Youth Alpha representative and can help with training - www.youthalpha.org
Youth Court Cafe - a safe place drop in for those attending the Calderdale Magistrate Court at Carlton URC
YMCA - offers young peoples activity, roller skating parties, meeting rooms, links to a variety of different services including YouthWorks and The Basement Project - Crossley Street, Halifax
